Some Defects of Aluminum Die Casting

Die casting is especially suitable for manufacturing a large number of small and medium-sized castings, so die casting is one of the most widely used casting processes. Compared with other casting technologies, die casting part has a flatter surface and higher dimensional consistency.

1,The surface of aluminum die casting has flow marks and patterns
There are stripes on the surface of the casting that are consistent with the flow direction of the molten metal, and there are obviously non-directional patterns with different color from the aluminum material and without development trend.

 2,Aluminum die casting cracked
There are protruding or concave marks on the surface of aluminum die casting parts, which expand and extend with the increase of production times.

3,Cold spacer pattern
The surface of aluminum die casting parts has obvious, irregular, and sunken linear pattern, which are small and narrow, sometimes with smooth edges, and has the possibility of disconnection under external force.

4,Dents on the surface of aluminum die casting parts
There are smooth dents on the surface of the thick ares of diecasting parts.

5,Surface traces
The traces left by the contact of aluminum die casting surface and die casting cavity surface or the appearance of step marks on the surface of the casting part.

6,Aluminum die casting surface with adhesion traces
Small flakes and metal or non-metallic and metal matrix parts are welded, and the small flakes are peeled off under the action of external force. Some of the peeled casting surfaces are shiny and some are dark gray.

7,Cracks on the aluminum die casting parts
Put the aluminum die casting parts in alkaline solution and the crack will be dark gray. The damage and cracking of the metal matrix are linear or wavy, with narrow and long pattern, which   tend to develop under the action of external force.
